The P1 was launched in 2013 to glowing reviews from the international motoring press, and it was widely regarded as the best of the ground-breaking holy trinity of hybrid hypercars. A total of around 400 examples of road-going and track-only P1s were built, and our lead engineers were at McLaren throughout its development and production.
V-Engineering is a world leader in P1 & Senna service engineering, and no one has more in-depth understanding of the technology that went into it. In addition to routine maintenance, we have developed a range of bespoke engineering solutions, many of which allow us to fix rather than replace expensive components and systems.
The P1's unique "Race Mode" is a special setting where the vehicle is lowered to just 60mm from the ground, and the rear wing is set in its highest position creating a very menacing look that customers have grown to love.
"Race Mode 2" allows for you to put the vehicle in this aggressive setting, but have the suspension raised so you are not at risk of damaging the underbody of the vehicle while driving.
The P1 Gearbox and Engine is connected through a specialized clutch assembly. If the vehicle has been sitting for a long time this could leak or fail and prevent the vehicle from starting. Instead of replacing the whole unit, we have the unique ability to rebuild and re-seal the HDA clutch saving on excessive repair costs.
The P1 and Senna's Hydraulic Suspension differs from other McLaren's due to its additional "Heave" Circuit. The Accumulators can slowly leak and cause the suspension to not be at its optimum. However they are designed with service ports that allow them to be recharged to their original pressure. Our ability to refill them with Nitrogen, and re-bleed both the standard system and heave circuit at the same time can bring the feel of your car back to the way it was when it left the factory.
